Simple Economics: Save money by installing the Active Fluid System on your bike.

The Active Fluid System saves you money by extending the useful life of your chain, cassette, chainrings, and derailleur pulleys. A longer lifespan for these expensive parts means fewer parts purchased as replacements in the future. Fewer parts replaced also means reduced maintenance & labor costs at your local shop if you don't do your own maintenance & repairs.

Here's an example of how the Active Fluid System Saves you money:

Consider a cyclist that rides an average of 150 miles per week, most or all of the year. This equates to about 7,800 miles annually. Even with  religiously regular maintenance & care (and how many of us actually do this) the typical bicycle chain has a useful service life of about 2000 miles. When used any longer than this, the chain will continue to wear (known as 'chain stretch') and will begin to wear expensive rear cassette sprockets & front chainrings very rapidly.

Under these conditions our cyclist would replace 3.9 chains per year, or one chain just over every 3 months. And since a cassette is only good for about 3 chains,* he'll be replacing a cassette before the year is over as well.
*(when chain is replaced at no more than 1mm stretch. The cassette's useful lifespan will be even shorter if chains are used beyond 1mm stretch.)

Let's say that the average cost of a bike chain these days is $15- quite a conservative figure, as most chains cost more than this! Our cyclist will end up spending $58.50 in replacement chains in one year, nearly the cost of the Active Fluid System. Consider that riders who run high-end components will spend far more! And remember that before the year is over, our cyclist will need a replacement cassette as well, which costs anywhere from $50 to well over $125. Our cyclist has all his service work done at his local dealer who charges $8 labor to replace a chain.

Here's the breakdown:

  • 4 chains @ $15ea. =                                          $58.50
  • 1 rear cassette =                                                 50.00
  • Annual shop labor to install 4 chains (@8.00ea) =   32.00
  • Shop labor to install 1 rear cassette =                      8.00

Total annual drivetrain maintenance cost =                       $148.50
(some cassettes alone cost nearly this much!)

Active Fluid SystemThe Active Fluid System at the very least doubles the life of your chain, cassette, and other drivetrain components. We've done consistent 100-300 mile weeks both on the road and off for up to nine months on a single chain using the Active Fluid System, with no problems and no  maintenance other than replenishing the system's reservoir with Active Fluid. In fact, our bikes worked as good as new the entire time. Needless to say the cassettes we've used in conjunction with the Active Fluid System last well over a year in these conditions and under this mileage. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the overall cost of replacement parts & labor will be reduced by at least 50% each year. (and that's a very conservative figure)

In the example above, the savings in one season is nearly the cost of the Active Fluid System. The Active Fluid System pays for itself in as little as one season's worth of riding! After that you will be enjoying the savings each mile you ride!

The Active Fluid System. It's just Simple Economics.
